Shore Team Wales - Trial Dates 2012

 

Aberaeron – 14th April: 8.00am-12.00pm  – Bait: Sandeel/Rag/Mackerel

Llangennith– 30th June: 9.00am-1.00pm – Bait: Maddies/Rag

Holyhead - November - 17th & 18th, Rag and Mackeral

Rules and code of conduct for Internationals representing the WFSA in shore events (OCTOBER 2012):-

1. During any championships the consumption of alcohol will be restricted as advised by the team manager

2. At all events you must refrain from any behaviour that may offend any other
Competitors.  Loud swearing is not acceptable behaviour.

3. Dress for the events will be as follows:-

  • Fishing: the sponsors clothing is to be worn at all times/choices made by manager.
  • During the event and during leisure time clothing must be of a smart and uniform appearance.  Polo shirts will be available at cost price.
  • During the ceremonies a single breasted blazer black, white shirt, WFSA tie, grey trousers (it is important to ensure the correct shade of grey is maintained -this will be advised upon selection)

 

4. International Anglers will also need to be available for none fishing events to raise our profile in the public eye.

5. Anglers must work together as a team at all times.

6. The sale of any tackle donated by any sponsor is prohibited.

7. THE SQUAD WILL CONSIST OF THE TOP 15 FROM THE QUALIFIERS.  FROM THEM, 5 WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE WORLD FIPS/CIPS EVENT (PLUS ONE RESERVE), 5 WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE HOME INTERNATIONAL SALC EVENT (PLUS ONE RESERVE).

THE RESERVES WILL BE USED AT THE MANAGERS DISCRETION - THERE WILL BE NO PANEL SELECTION BUT THE WILD CARD WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE.  THE REMAINING THREE WILL BE THE FIRST TO BE OFFERED THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL EVENT

Rules for shore Events (OCT 2011 – M COWELL)

  • At all events you must refrain from any behaviour that may offend any other competitor in the interest of fair play to all
  • All matches must be attended: failure to attend will/may result in all results being void. (Manager must be informed of absence) – telephone calls must be made if caught in traffic en-route to fish-offs
  • Hook min size 10
  • Up to three hooks are allowed, sliders will be allowed, no floats other than 1 floating bead per hook length (max 15mm beads)
  • Only one rod must be in use at any one time another rod may be set up with running line and link, no other rods are allowed to be set up (this means set up ready to use you may have other rods with reels and line running through but must be facing away from the sea)
  • Fish size limit 12 cm - all fish to be measured
  • Rays measured nose to tail
  • All fish under 12cm will receive 1 point and no fish points
  • Weavers allowed (with care)
  • All competitors must have buckets
  • All fish caught MUST be placed immediately into a bucket of fresh seawater prior to recasting out.  Anglers must remove their rig from the rod before casting out
  • Anglers may go to the right or left to sign their fish however all fish caught must be returned in front of the angler they sign the fish in with
  • All competitors must be at the draw 2hours before the fishing time failure to observe this will result in the bait being distributed and the booking in closed once the organizer has left the booking in will be closed if you are late its up to you to sort someone to draw your peg and collect your bait the person who does this will pay for your bait for the next leg.
  • In the event of a dispute any complaint must be in writing, the manager will review the complaint if required he will request the area leader’s judgement on the matter, any decision from the investigation will be binding. The Managers decision will be final – any complaint must be lodged within 1hr of the match ending. 

Any complaints made afterwards will not be honoured.

  • The Manager will look to move the venue should conditions make venues unsafe, if no alternative venue is available the event will be abandoned and no points will be awarded
  • The Manager reserves the right to modify rules should he feel there is a need to.

Pools will be run on the day – 1st / 2nd each zone – also longest round fish/longest flat. 

  • The only bait allowed in the event is what is supplied
  • No bait additives are allowed
  • Zones will be from left to right - any discrepancy will be taken out on the first 2 zones for the first two legs and the last 2 zones for the last two legs.
  • You must clean your peg prior to leaving the beach you must also return your peg to the Marshall.
  • No spinning/twitching lines allowed
  • The manager may reserve the right to substitute baits on the day should there be need too.
  • Any surplus from the bait funds will be given to team funds
  • At the end of the match you must have your fish card underlined by the adjacent angler and each fish must be signed in – NO DITTOS ALLOWED – and totalled up correctly.  You are responsible to total.  Cards will only be checked in the event of a tie, or close points/obscurity.
  • You must hand your card in personally along with your peg marker to the allocated card Collector
  • Entry into the water is permitted to knee height (as per CIPS rules) – no fishing standing in the water
